The following public hearings are scheduled for Monday, January 30, in the 5:30 p.m. session of the City Council meeting:

• 22-1602: Community Planning and Development will present a bill for an ordinance changing the zoning classification for 365 South Ogden Street in Washington Park West.
• 22-1603: Community Planning and Development will present a bill for an ordinance changing the zoning classification for 1772 & 1788 South Acoma Street in Overland.

Special Session: The Safety, Housing, Education, and Homelessness Committee will host the first of a three-part series on February 1. The series will focus on substance misuse, addiction, and recovery to provide the council and community viewers with a foundation on the medical nature of addiction, evidence-based treatment models, and lived experience with recovery. The sessions will feature medical doctors and community members who have overcome substance misuse. The committee felt it was important to pause and ground itself in the underlying medical science and lived experience of our community to better inform the council's policy, budget, and oversight functions on this urgent challenge facing our city. The sessions will take place during regularly scheduled Committee meetings so the public can tune in live along with their elected city leaders or view the archived video after-the-fact at the link above. The next sessions are scheduled for March 1 and March 15.
