3.2 Million Tonnes of Commodities Changed Hands on IME

Within the week ending on April 26, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 3,284,326 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 822 million USD on its physical market.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor, trade of 2,719,651 tonnes of commodities valued at almost 564 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,297,938 tonnes of cement, 741,000 tonnes of iron ore, 422,238 tonnes of steel, 231,250 tonnes of sponge iron, 17,210 tonnes of aluminum, 7,930 tonnes of copper, 1,185 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of coke and 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate.

IME's agricultural trading floor was the next which saw trade of 1.5 tonnes of saffron.

Moreover, the exchange saw trade of 421,768 tonnes of commodities worth more than 207 million USD on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor.

Items traded on this floor included 184,900 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 140,449 tonnes of bitumen, 102,877 tonnes of polymeric products, 54,500 tonnes of lube cut, 39,103 tonnes of chemicals, 13,970 tonnes of sulfur, 5,521 tonnes of oil and 570 tonnes of feedstocks.

Last was the IME's side market on which the exchange traded 22,623 tonnes of goods.
