Participation in the ICN Technologist Forum

On March 25th and 26th, 2024, "ICN Technologist Forum" (Note) was held in Washington, DC, hosted by the US Federal Trade Commission, with the goals of sharing experiences and promoting increasing digital and technology capacity in regulatory and enforcement agencies. The staff of Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "JFTC") including digital Analysts attended the Forum and actively participated in the discussion.

(Note)
The ICN (International Competition Network) is a network consisting of national and multinational competition agencies. It was established in October 2001 with the aim of facilitating procedural and substantive convergence.

During the Forum, the statement of "Building Digital Capacity to Strengthen and Support Law Enforcement Agencies" was published, with the list of participating competition authorities including the JFTC (Please refer to the Attachment). The statement indicates a common recognition of the need to continue to strengthen cooperation, such as sharing knowledge at the expert level.
