City Council Appoints Jovan D. Grogan as Santa Clara's New City Manager

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - On February 7, 2023, the Santa Clara City Council appointed Jovan D. Grogan to serve as the City Manager for the City of Santa Clara. A native of the Bay Area, Mr. Grogan is a leader in the local government profession and has a proven track record of helping public agencies resolve fiscal challenges and establish strategic partnerships that benefit local communities.

At present, Jovan is the City Manager for the City of San Bruno, California. He previously served as the second-in-command in Berkeley and Concord. Prior to that, Jovan was a Senior Management Advisor with Management Partners, a consulting firm that specialized in helping local governments improve operations.

Mr. Grogan holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Studies as well as a Master of Regional Planning, both from Cornell University.

As City Manager, Mr. Grogan will also serve as the Executive Director of the Santa Clara Stadium Authority, and is responsible for oversight of Silicon Valley Power, the City's electric utility, and the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Mr. Grogan's appointment will commence on May 1, 2023.
