PM RABUKA HOLDS TALANOA SESSION WITH CIVIL SERVANTS ON TAVEUNI, DISCUSSES THE DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGES FACING THE ISLAND AND WORKPLACE ISSUES-(04-04-2024)

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabukatook time out yesterday to visit civil servants in Taveuni where he had an open "talanoa" session with them and also listened to issues raised.
The Prime Minister requested civil servants to relate the development issues facing the island and encouraged them to raise workplace challenges they face in their current posting.
The civil servants shared the development and infrastructure challenges they encounter in fulfilling their duties daily, notably workplace relations, water and road issues particularly on the southern part of the island, and their accommodation quarters, to name just a few.
They voiced their concerns, acknowledging the critical role they play in serving the community despite facing various challenges.
In acknowledging the issues raised, PM Rabuka thanked the civil servants for progressively striving to ensure public service delivery on the island.
Speaking in his capacity as the Minister for Civil Service, he assured the officers that issues raised would be looked into objectively.
On the same note, the Prime Minister commended the dedication and resilience demonstrated by civil servants in fulfilling their duties.
He encouraged them to maintain high standards of public service delivery and continue to serve with diligence.
