Chairman Williams Issues Statement on National Small Business Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX), Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, issued the following statement on National Small Business Week.

"Small businesses are the engines of the American economy and the foundations of our communities," said Chairman Williams. "National Small Business Week is a time to celebrate all small businesses across the country and all they do for their communities. As a small business owner myself, this week is especially important to me. The goal this week is to shine a light on Main Street and give them the recognition and credit they so deserve."

Background:

Sunday, April 28th, through Saturday May 4th is National Small Business Week. For the last 60 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration has sponsored this celebration which acknowledges the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. Despite facing severe economic headwinds, small businesses continue to thrive, and the Committee will use this week to celebrate them.
