On Wednesday 12 July 2023, the Deputy Ministerof National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, visited the Athens Naval Hospital.

The Deputy Minister, accompanied by the Chief/HNGS Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymoussis HNand the Director of the Medical Corps Dte/HNDGS Rear Admiral Antonios Papageorgiou HN,was informed by the Director of the Hospital, Commodore Sotirios Moraitis HN,on the structure, staffingand operation of the Athens Naval Hospital. At the meeting, among other things, the possibilities of quality upgrading and the perspective of the health unit were discussed.

Special emphasis was given to the Assisted Reproduction Unit, which Mr. Kefalogiannis visited. Supplied with modern technologies, of high international specifications, with scientifically proficient personnel, it has outstanding success rates. Its contribution to couples of remote islands is important, in the context of the Armed Forces social contribution. Finally, he visited the Unit of Submersible and Hyperbaric Medicine, as well as the restored and fully modernized Hospitalization Wing "Marilena Laskaridi".

Afterwards, the Deputy Ministers of National Defence Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis and Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, accompanied by the Deputy Chief/HAGS Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis, visited the Hellenic Military Academy. During their visit, the Deputy Ministers were informed by the Commander Major General Anastasios Polychronos, on the history, mission, and structure of the military and academic training, as well as on all the activities of the Academy.
