WACO, TX (September 24, 2021) - Starting Friday, Oct. 1, new Magnolia Network original content will debut weekly throughout the month of October, exclusively streaming on discovery+ and the Magnolia app. Titles premiering on Magnolia Network this month include: new series In With the Old and Art in Bloom with Helen Dealtry; preview episodes of the forthcoming series From Grandma, With Love (wt) and One Big Day with Bob Goff (wt); the season two premieres of First Time Fixer, The Lost Kitchen, Super Dad and Homegrown; and the season four premiere of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines.

The following new Magnolia Network episodes and specials will debut throughout the month of October:

  • An American Story - This inspiring anthology series celebrates remarkable people hidden in the fabric of America and reveals the inspirational stories they have to share.
    • "Kentucky: The Horse Jumper" - Wren Zimmerman dreamed of jumping horses in competition, but in her late teens she lost her vision to a rare eye condition. Refusing to give up, Wren went from never riding a horse to taking on competitions nationwide.
    • "Pennsylvania: The Rescuer" - Pilot Paul Steklenski devotes his aviation skills, time and money to rescuing dogs from crowded shelters and flying them to new homes.
    • "Mississippi: The Farmer" - With no farming experience, Cindy Elliott left her corporate New York career to purchase 60 acres in Jackson, MS. Passionate about small scale farming, Cindy now runs her own farm to give her community access to fresh produce.
    • "Ohio: The Naturalist" - Naturalist Kiala Dean knew from an early age that the great outdoors are a place to find peace in a fast-moving world. Today, she shares her passion and unveils the wonders of the Ohio backcountry to visitors from all over America.
  • Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things - Offering an in-depth look at how iconic American-made products are created, this series celebrates the ingenuity, passion and creativity of the people who proudly stand behind these timeless classics.
    • "The Lasso, Electric Guitar and Skee-ball" - In a decade characterized by films about the wild west, rock 'n' roll, and penny arcades, learn the history behind some of the most iconic products of the 1950s: the lasso, electric guitar and Skee-Ball.
  • From Grandma, With Love (wt) - NEW PREVIEW EPISODE -Generational home cooks from around the world welcome us into their kitchens to learn their most beloved family recipes, along with the stories, culture and traditions that shaped them.
    • "Mirta's Argentine Kitchen" - Argentine grandma Mirta shares her beloved family recipes for a traditional asado, or barbecue, complete with cuts of meat to grill, a twist on classic chimichurri sauce and decadent alfajores for dessert.
  • Home Work - Candis and Andy Meredith's biggest renovation project to date is transforming a 20,000-square-foot historic school into their family home - all while juggling projects for clients, rental properties and life with their blended family of nine.
    • "Grandma's Cottage" - The Merediths transform an industrial outbuilding into a guest cottage where Candis' grandma - a former teacher - can live and entertain loved ones.
  • In With the Old -NEW SERIES-Designers, builders and old-home enthusiasts in small towns and big cities across America reimagine and transform abandoned structures by preserving their historical integrity while giving them new purpose.
    • "Adobe Mercantile to Dream Home" - DIY enthusiasts Mandi and Court Gubler transform an abandoned adobe mercantile building into the home of their dreams while honoring its place in southern Utah history.
  • Making Modern with Brooke and Brice - Married duo Brooke and Brice Gilliam have flipped the script on traditional home renovation roles-with Brooke as the builder and Brice as the designer. As more clients seek out their work, they take a leap of faith to launch a home remodeling business.
    • "Basement Overhaul Part 1: The Biggest Project Yet" - Brooke and Brice tackle their largest project yet, converting a 1,500-square-foot basement in a 100-year-old house into a new living space. Brice tackles multiple design ideas while Brooke leads her team of builders.
  • Point of View: A Designer Profile (S2) - Giving a behind-the-curtain look into the mind of interior designers, this anthology series lets us in on their creative processes and introduces the inspirations and influences that shape their designs.
    • "Caitlin Murray" - Los Angeles-based interior designer and owner of Black Lacquer Design Caitlin Murray creates a nursery for her first child that mixes modern and classic styles.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8

  • An American Story- This inspiring anthology series celebrates remarkable people hidden in the fabric of America and reveals the inspirational stories they have to share.
    • "Bonfires on the Bayou" - Multiple generations of Cajun woodworkers gather for a Christmas tradition of building massive bonfires in the Bayou. While much has changed since the first bonfires in the 1800s, their passion for keeping this celebration alive has never been stronger.
    • "Texas: Rodeo Cowgirls" - Three generations of African American cowgirls reflect on racing horses and how the sport of rodeo has evolved. Overcoming discrimination to win championships, all three seek to provide inspiration for new generations of minorities within rodeo culture.
  • Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things - Offering an in-depth look at how iconic American-made products are created, this series celebrates the ingenuity, passion and creativity of the people who proudly stand behind these timeless classics.
    • "Jelly Bean, Neon Sign, Snowboard" - Discover how a California manufacturer from 1869 makes jelly beans from the inside out, how a company in Seattle carries on the electrifying tradition of neon signs and how snowboards are made from eight layers of material in Colorado.
  • First Time Fixer (S2) -SEASON 2 PREMIERE -First-time house renovators take their home renovation dreams into their own hands and experience the risk and reward that comes with trying something new.
    • "Second Time's a Charm" - Best friends return to flip a friend's rental in beautiful Park City, Utah. With some help from Chip and Jo, the girls take on a new set of challenges they've never faced before.
  • In With the Old -Designers, builders and old-home enthusiasts in small towns and big cities across America reimagine and transform abandoned structures by preserving their historical integrity while giving them new purpose.(screener to come at a later date)

Best-selling author and speaker Bob Goff takes big dreamers on adventures to push them outside their comfort zone and motivate them to believe their dreams are attainable.
    • "Couple at a Crossroads" - The demands of a challenging few years have put a young couple's dream of opening a bed and breakfast on hold. Bob guides them through a day of adventure to inspire them to once again dream big for their future.
  • Point of View: A Designer Profile - Giving a behind-the-curtain look into the mind of interior designers, this anthology series lets us in on their creative processes and introduces the inspirations and influences that shape their designs.
    • "The Brownstone Boys" - Jordan Slocum and Barry Bordelon, or the Brownstone Boys, tackle a new Brooklyn renovation project, as well as their own home studio transformation. (screener to come at a later date)

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15

  • Art in Bloom with Helen Dealtry -NEW SERIES (2 episodes)-Artist Helen Dealtry gives a glimpse into her creative process in this studio-based painting series, sharing the how-to of her original creations from start to finish.
    • "Wet-on-Wet Technique" - Artist Helen Dealtry uses wet-on-wet technique to paint an array of ombre flowers. She wets the paper in combination with a damp brush to allow the paint colors to spread and bloom. She expresses the importance of having fun and letting go of control.
    • "A Monochromatic Exercise" -Artist Helen Dealtry paints a bundle of poppies. She uses hues of black in order to create dimension and layers on the page. She dilutes the black to an almost transparent hue to add thin layers and build structure to the flowers.
  • Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things - Offering an in-depth look at how iconic American-made products are created, this series celebrates the ingenuity, passion and creativity of the people who proudly stand behind these timeless classics.
    • "Dippin' Dots, Construction Paper and Marbles" - Discover how iconic Dippin' Dots ice cream is created in Kentucky, how giant rolls of colorful construction paper for arts and crafts projects are manufactured in Wisconsin and enjoy a classic game of marbles in West Virginia.
  • First Time Fixer (S2) -First-time house renovators take their home renovation dreams into their own hands and experience the risk and reward that comes with trying something new.
    • "Keep Calm and Do It Yourself" - A couple with minimal renovation experience races against a six month deadline to take on a historic home in Columbus, Georgia.
  • In With the Old -Designers, builders and old-home enthusiasts in small towns and big cities across America reimagine and transform abandoned structures by preserving their historical integrity while giving them new purpose.
    • "The Creek House - Railroad, PA" - Renovators Brian and Rachelle Lazzaro return to their hometown of Railroad, Pennsylvania, to rebuild the town one house at a time. First, they tackle the Creek House, a small home next to the train tracks that was built in the 19th century.
  • Point of View: A Designer Profile - Giving a behind-the-curtain look into the mind of interior designers, this anthology series lets us in on their creative processes and introduces the inspirations and influences that shape their designs.
    • "Faith Blakeney" - Interior designer Faith Blakeney from Berkeley, CA, draws on inspiration from years of traveling to tackle projects like a Los Angeles rehabilitation center and her parents' forever home. (screener to come at a later date)

  • Art in Bloom with Helen Dealtry -Artist Helen Dealtry gives a glimpse into her creative process in this studio-based painting series, sharing the how-to of her original creations from start to finish.
    • "Inspired by the Dutch Masters" - Artist Helen Dealtry paints a dutch master inspired by her floral arrangement. The basis of a dutch master is a dark background with rich, deep colors. She explains why dutch masters were so popularized and how the dark background enhances the vibrant colors.
  • Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things - Offering an in-depth look at how iconic American-made products are created, this series celebrates the ingenuity, passion and creativity of the people who proudly stand behind these timeless classics.
    • "Applesauce, Teddy Bear and Candy Cane" - Get a revealing look at how three nostalgic products are created, including applesauce in Pennsylvania, the teddy bear in Vermont and the classic Christmas candy cane in Colorado.
  • First Time Fixer (S2) -First-time house renovators take their home renovation dreams into their own hands and experience the risk and reward that comes with trying something new.
    • "Texas-Size Reno" - Chip and Joanna step in to help a designer and her music composer husband renovate the entire interior of their 1920s Tudor home in Waco, Texas.
