3 Ways to Keep Your Leaves in Check

The weather is getting cooler every day, and that means the leaves are really falling.

While their shades of red, yellow, and orange, peppered with some stubborn green ones, the leaves are gorgeous to look at. Yet, they are certainly something you don't want in your swimming pool if you're leaving it open.

In this article, we look three ways you can keep your leaves in check during the fall season in Wichita and the surrounding area.

#1: Skim Your Pool Manually

This is probably the method most people think of when it comes to getting the leaves and debris out of your swimming pool.

Manual pool skimming means you grab a pool net with a long handle and get to the business of getting the leaves out of your pool. This might be a telescoping pool and a flat skimmer net or a net bag. It will catch your leaves and other debris in your pool. You can reach most anything that's floating at or near the surface.

You skim and dispose of the leaves so they don't blow back in your pool over and over again.

If you love being outside, and it's a beautiful day, you might enjoy your time spent doing this. It's also a great form of exercise.

While this method is good for getting leaves off the water, it doesn't help you get the leaves and debris that have sunk to your pool floor. Even if you skim it every day, there will still be some left over, and you need to use a pool vacuum.

#2: Let a Robot Do It

With an automatic pool cleaner, you can let your robot do the work for you.

This type of pool cleaner/vacuum runs all the time and grabs leaves, dirt, bugs, grass clippings, and much more. You don't even have to do anything. You can even let the leaves fall to the pool floor, and your robot will take care of it.

#3: Have Us Do It
