Ollie Proudlock announced as BHF Ambassador

We are delighted to announce thatOllie Proudlock has joined us as our new BHF Ambassador.

The former Made in Chelsea star is passionate about raising funds for our lifesaving research due to a history of heart disease in his family.

In 2018, Ollie's father Michael Proudlock, sadly died following a heart attack. Despite being diagnosed with a weak heart muscle in 2006, Michael's death came a huge shock to the family.

Ollie has been working with the us for the last seven years taking on epic fundraising challenges like the 2015 London Marathon and trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, in 2016, with his now wife, Emma Louise Connolly. The couple haveattended many of our red-carpet fundraising eventsto help fund our vital research into heart and circulatory disease.

Ollie Proudlock said: "I am honoured to become an Ambassador for the British Heart Foundation. Their cause is incredibly close to my heart, especially having lost my own dad to a heart attack.

"I was devastated when my dad died. To lose such an important figure in my life so suddenly was truly heartbreaking. Having recently become a father myself, it's more important to me than ever that we do what we can to keep families together longer.

"The BHF funds lifesaving research to help improve and save the lives of the 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory disease all over the UK. I'm proud to be an Ambassador for a charity that is passionate about funding research to find the next big scientific breakthrough."

The entrepreneur and TV personality will make his first official outing as BHF Ambassador at our Heart Hero Awards,which is returning for its fifth year for 2022 on Thursday 1st December. Ollie is a judge for this year's event and will be presenting the BHF Sustainability Partner award - recognising an outstanding organisation that has helped us to implement our sustainability goals.

He said: "I am excited to be performing one of my first ambassadorial duties in announcing the winner of the BHF's Sustainability Partner at this year's Heart Hero Awards ceremony. The event is such a great way of recognising all the inspirational people who play such an important role in helping the charity make such a difference to so many lives. I am very lucky to now be a part of that."

Ollie will be joined by other BHF Ambassadors, celebrity judges and supporters, including footballing legend David Ginola, Olympic gymnasts Becky and Ellie Downie, Will Njobvu, Scott Allan,and Vernon Kay, who will be hosting the event for the fourth time.
