Just one month to go until the 68th FEFAC Annual Public Meeting on 31 May 2024 in Brussels. You can check the agenda and register for the event here.

We now have a confirmed programme, speaker lineup and practical information!

FEFAC President Pedro Cordero welcomes all members and stakeholders to attend, opening the event by presenting the main theme of this year, that is "How to boost feed autonomy and strengthen the circularity of the EU livestock sector?".

Therefore, we are highly pleased to confirm the remote participation of Janusz Wojciechowski, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, who will provide the opening speech about EU feed and livestock Open Strategic Autonomy. Providing the framework for the 1st Panel, moderated by AGRA FACTS Chief Editor Rose O' Donovan, to debate on the EU Open Strategic Autonomy objectives for the EU Agri-Food chain.

Andre Negreiros, Central & Eastern Europe, Corteva Agriscience will set the scene by presenting an outlook on growth potential and farmers' toolbox for the EU protein crops. High-level panelists from the European Commission, the Belgian EU Council Presidency and value chain partners will discuss the effectiveness of CAP measures in reducing the EU's dependence on import of Hi-Pro feed proteins. Amid the current geopolitical tensions, the panel will extend to ways the EU could enhance the resilience of the supply chain and feed grain transport infrastructure, through improved EU policy coordination to facilitate transition to a more sustainable and competitive EU livestock sector.

We are highly honoured to welcome Christiane Lambert, COPA President, who will deliver the keynote speech about "Key drivers for Circularity and low carbon emissions in the EU feed and livestock sector" (in French, interpretation provided) opening the scene for the second panel, moderated by FEFAC Deputy Secretary General Anton van den Brink. Panellists from the European Commission, value chain partners will explore the potential of new technologies and EC policy, market and financial incentives to help the feed and livestock sector to reduce GHG emissions moving towards Zero-net targets through more resource-efficient use of Biomass.
