Enhancing safety and durability with funds for West 7th Bridge upgrade

The Fort Worth City Council recently approved funds to address vandalism and water intrusion causing lighting issues on the iconic West 7th bridge.

Why it matters: The bridge has passed the warranty period after being constructed a decade ago and the City then adopted the bridge, assuming responsibility for maintaining the lights.

Go deeper: The project includes a specialized engineering inspection of needed repairs, safety lighting design plans and a long-term maintenance plan. The new lighting system will include marine-grade specifications, ensuring waterproofing and durability against condensation and varying weather conditions.
