KGHM signed a letter of intent with the Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław

Cooperation in the area of security, exchange of experience, and training - KGHM has signed a letter of intent with the Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces (AWL) in Wrocław.

The signatories will develop, among other things, solutions to address crisis management challenges. This prestigious document also provides for collaboration between KGHM and AWL personnel on innovative research projects.

"In recent years, the world has clearly shown us how unpredictable the times we are living in are. We will share our own experiences and gain knowledge from academic staff about situations associated with crisis management. The smooth functioning of production or IT systems is a key issue. The exchange of experience with experts from the university will allow us to work together and take on different challenges," said Tomasz Zdzikot, the CEO of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

The letter of intent provides for, among other things, substantive consultations between KGHM and the Military University of Land Forces, joint scientific research, and training activities related to the area of crisis management.

During a ceremony at the Military University of Land Forces, KGHM's CEO Tomasz Zdzikot received the Medal of the Centenary of Regained Independence from Deputy Minister of National Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz. The medal was awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland at the request of the Minister of Defense for meritorious services to the Independent Poland.

KGHM is building its future on the basis of e-industry. The solutions being introduced include robotization, digitalization, knowledge management, and the tenets of Industry 4.0. KGHM is reaching for the latest global solutions such as BigData and predictive maintenance. The company carries out its research and development activities in cooperation with, among others, Poland's largest universities, scientific institutes, and industry players.

The Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław is one of the best military universities in Poland. Its traditions date back to the period of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Currently, the University offers a wide range of training opportunities in the security sciences and management departments, as well as the Command Institute, the Leadership Institute, and the Military Medical Training Center.
