On May 6, 2024, at about 5:49 p.m., Troopers responded to the Stewarts Shop on State Route 146 in Clifton Park, NY, for the reports of a stolen vehicle. The investigation revealed that Hayner had allegedly stolen the vehicle from the parking lot while the owner was inside the store. The stolen vehicle, still being operated by Hayner failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated.
