Storm sewer work requires lane and ramp closures on I-75 in Oakland County starting Friday

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. - Weather permitting, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contract crews will be closing the southbound I-75 ramp to eastbound and westbound I-696 starting at 5 a.m. Friday, May 3, to allow crews to safely remove an abandoned storm sewer under the right shoulder of southbound I-75. In addition, crews will close two lanes on southbound I-75 from 11 Mile Road to I-696, and the 11 Mile Road entrance ramp to southbound I-75.

Beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, May 6, crews will open one lane on the southbound I-75 ramp to I-696 and reduce the double-lane closure on southbound I-75 to just a single right-lane closure. The 11 Mile Road entrance ramp to southbound I-75 will remain closed.

All lane and ramp closures are expected to be removed by Sunday, May 12.
