The results are in: Here’s how residents responded to the City’s annual community survey

The results from the City of Sacramento's annual community survey are in and available for easy viewing with this online dashboard.

The survey, which is conducted each year by the City Auditor's Office, asked residents for feedback about 10 specific community aspects. Participation was open to any resident to respond from March 25 to April 8.

Sixty-six percent of respondents rated Sacramento as a "good" or "excellent" place to live. Respondents also positively rated the City as a place to work, noting the overall quality of business and service establishments.

However, fewer than half of respondents reported feeling very or somewhat safe from violent crime and property crime, a drop from the 2021 results.

City Auditor Jorge Oseguera shared the findings at the 2 p.m. City Council meeting on June 28.

One the benefits of the survey, Oseguera said, is the ability to gauge public sentiment of priorities and "the level of satisfaction in regards to the services that the City is actually providing." Moving forward, the results can be used as a tool by the City to help guide future work.

The full survey results can be found here.
