BPA powers students futures

We're energizing students' imaginations and the Northwest region's future. Organizations working with K-12 students in BPA's service area are invited to apply for education grants for the 2020/2021 school year.

The Bonneville Power Administration is offering up to $10,000 in grants to educators, government agencies and nonprofit organizations that offer programs to support students' energy literacy and interest.

BPA expects to award up to six Science and Energy Education Program grants worth $500 to $5,000 each, to organizations working in the area of education for K-12 students in BPA's service area, which includes Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and parts of Montana, Nevada and Wyoming.

Grants will be awarded for projects to be completed in the 2020/2021 school year. Eligible projects will be designed to support science, technology, engineering and math education with special emphasis on electric utility issues such as:

  • Hydropower.
  • Wind and solar power.
  • Electricity conservation.
  • Energy and environment studies.
