The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, representing the Hellenic Government, attended today, Thursday 25 April 2024, the Commemorative Service on the occasion of "ANZAC Day", at the War Cemetery in Faliro.

The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Chief/HNDGS, Vice Admiral Christos Siasiakos HN, representing the Hellenic Armed Forces, as well as delegates of the local government and Embassies.

In this context, the Deputy Minister of National Defence made the following statement:

"Feeling deep respect and reverence, I represented the Hellenic Government at the Commemorative Service in honour of "ANZAC Day" at the War Cemetery in Faliro. We are honouring the national day of remembrance of Australia and New Zealand, in the context of which tribute is paid to all the Australians and New Zealanders who served and were lost from both countries, during wars, battles and peace operations.

The braveness of the ANZAC is a beacon of inspiration for the Western world, and a constant reminder for us to defend the values of Democracy, Human Rights, Peace and Freedom."
