BA makes ‘Top 100 Best Places to live’ list

Broken Arrow is one of the best places to live in America, according to Livability.com's 10th annual ranking.

"Broken Arrow enchants residents with a unique blend of small-town charm and modern amenities," Livability.com said. "Family-friendly neighborhoods, a booming economy, a low cost of living, and plenty of things to do contributes to Broken Arrow's welcoming community."

They cite the community's elusive balance with its big-city amenities, robust economy, and ability to retain and maintain its small-town charm. Livability.com only considers cities with a population of less than 500,000 for this list.

"As home prices hit historical highs and inflation continues to rise, we laud the cities that are growing wages and home values, while maintaining an affordable cost of living, including reasonable rent and home prices relative to local income."

The website noted the $6 million jobs creation package that helped launch Flight Safety's state-of-the-art flight simulator facility, as well as the 90-acre mixed-use Innovation District coming to south Broken Arrow with residences, businesses, and educational components that will strengthen the talent pipeline for the area's high-tech industry.

It also recognized the vibrant downtown Rose District for its Farmers Market, interactive water feature, shopping, and restaurants.

"With safe neighborhoods, affordable homes, and community gems like the 1,500-seat Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, it's easy to see why this fast-growing city is such a draw for young families, retirees, veterans, and more."

Livability.com partnered with Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS) to curate the "Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S." based on 100 data points from eight categories: the economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, environment, safety, education, and health. Broken Arrow scored 745 out of 1,000 and ranks highest for housing, economy, and transportation.
