East Coast Bays Library - Secrets Under the Sea School Holiday Programme

Submerge yourself in holiday fun at East Coast Bays Library with the Secrets Under the Sea Holiday Programme. Dive into daily activities including scavenger hunts, the I-Spy Aquarium Cabinet and Make a Sea Creature competitions where you can be in to win a prize.

Sunday 14 April - Storytime & Crafts 11.00am - 11.30am

Come along to our "Secrets Under the Sea" Storytime! Our friendly librarian will read a selection of stories that feature the ocean and all its inhabitants. Then make a big, beautiful decoration for the Library with us!

Under the Sea Movie 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Enjoy a family-friendly movie with your whānau or friends. Ask a friendly librarian what we will be screening on this day. Movie rating is G or PG.

Please note that adult supervision is required for under 14 year olds.

Monday 15 April - Origami Sea Creatures 2.00pm - 3:00pm

Fold yourself some cool origami sea creatures.

Tuesday 16 April - Auckland Zoo Conservation 1.00pm - 2.00pm

Calling all beach-goers, picnickers, snorkelers and shell-collectors! Come along to your local library to uncover some secrets, stories and strange sensations from the sea with the team from Auckland Zoo! Please note that no live animals will be joining us at this event. Registration is required.

Wednesday 17 April - Connect 4 Tournament 3.30pm - 4.30pm

Quick! Take a Guess? How many moves do you think Connect 4 has? This school holiday we will host our first ever Connect 4 tournament. You will learn HOW to win Connect 4. Followed by a tournament to find out who is the BEST Connect 4 player. Please see the Poster for more details. So what's your guess? Registration is required.

Friday 19 April - "Luna in the Forest" Creative Workshop 3.00pm - 4.30pm Come and meet the author of "LUNA IN THE FOREST" for a storytelling and fun creative drawing activities. For ages 7 - 12 years.

Limited spaces available. Bookings are required.

Sunday 21 April - ANZAC Remembrance and Storytime 10.15am - 11.45am

Join us to remember New Zealand and Australian ANZAC service personnel. Make poppies to attach to a wreath which we will lay at the ANZAC day service. Poppies from home or from RSA donations are also welcome. ANZAC Storytime will take place from 11.00am - 11.30am.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Tuesday 23 April - Secret Message in a Bottle 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Look, what's that, washed up on the shore? It's a message in a bottle! Write your own message and send it off to someone else in a bottle. Bring your own glass jar or bottle if possible, a small selection will be provided.

Wednesday 24 April - Octopus Socktopus 10.00am - 11.00am

Bring an old or forgotten sock and make a snuggly "Socktopus" to take home!

Friday 26 April - Sunday 28 - April Secrets Under the Sea Colouring competition.

Come and colour secrets under the sea and enter for a prize.
