DA moves to ease poverty in SOCCSKSARGEN

Department of Agriculture (DA) Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban met the Board Executive Committee of the South Cotabato/North Cotabato/Sultan Kudarat/Sarangani/General Santos City (SOCSKSARGEN) Area Development Project (ADP) on September 22, 2022.

Panganiban as Ex-Officio Chairman of the ADP Board expressed that the project will be expanded.

Project Manager Ginalyn Fe Cachuela presented to the group the project updates and accomplishments, the status of the requested project term extension for 2023-2028.

She also bared the priority development programs for coordination in the next six years.

The ADP was created in 1991 to support the national government's effort on food security and poverty alleviation particularly in SOCSKSARGEN.

For the coming years, it will prioritize the development of agro-industrial hubs, road networks, aerotropolis projects, infrastructure and logistics, environmental support projects, and other projects supportive to agriculture and fisheries development converging at the region's strategic agricultural development.

The meeting was attended by Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu, General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquaio, Cotabato Province Governor Emmylou Mendoza, and Sarangani Province representative Annabelle Tagaza.
