The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is requesting the public's assistance locating a man wanted in connection to a retail robbery.

On Friday, March 8, 2024, at approximately 12:56 p.m. police responded to a robbery call for in the Sheppard Avenue East and Neilson Road area.

It is alleged that:

  • a group of four male suspects entered a mall wearing masks to disguise their identity
  • one suspect was carrying a large sledgehammer
  • the suspects approached a jewellery store and forced open the door
  • one suspect entered the store and removed a quantity of jewellery
  • the suspects then fled the mall

Members of the Hold Up Squad began an investigation and were able to identify three of the suspects.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, members of the Hold Up Squad, with the assistance of the 23 Division Major Crime Unit, executed five Criminal Code Search Warrants in relation to their investigation. Two of the identified suspects were located and taken into custody.

It is further alleged that:

  • at the time of the searches, officers recovered a loaded handgun and other items of evidentiary value related to the investigation.

Daniel Offe, 22, of Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Robbery With Offensive Weapon
  2. Disguise With Intent
  3. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
  4. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  5. Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  6. Possession Loaded Prohibited Firearm
  7. Possession Prohibited Weapon Knowing it's Possession is Unauthorized
  8. two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

Abdulahi Ali, 21, of Toronto, was charged with:

  1. Robbery With Offensive Weapon
  2. Disguise With Intent
  3. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
  4. Fail to Comply With Release Order

Both are scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 107.

Harun Ahmed Hussein, 19, of Toronto, is wanted for:

  1. Robbery With Offensive Weapon
  2. Disguise With Intent
  3. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over

He is described as 5'6", with a thin build.
