KENNESAW, Ga. - With Opening Day under a month away, Kennesaw State baseball began its first day of practice for the 2020 season. KSU, led by 29th year head coach , will play 32 home games at Stillwell Stadium.
The Owls had two players, and , named to the ASUN Conference Preseason All-Conference list. In addition, Norman was named the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year after a terrific junior season that ended with a first team all-conference selection. Norman was the conference's leader in batting average (.350) in 2019 and was tied for first in hits (75). Russell was stellar in league play last season with 25 RBI and 30 hits, which ranked second and sixth, respectively. He also slugged .609 and totaled 66 bases in ASUN play.
KSU begins its season with the Atlanta Classic at Stillwell Stadium on Feb. 14. The field of teams include St. Johns (Feb. 14), Saint Peters (Feb. 15) and Cincinnati (Feb.16). The Owls open conference play with a three-game series with Lipscomb on March 20-22.
Season tickets are available for $39 and can be purchased here. Premium home games include Saint Peter's (Feb. 15), Georgia (Feb. 19), Jacksonville State (March 10), Lipscomb (March 21), Georgia Tech (Apr. 14), Georgia State (Apr. 29), Mercer (May 6) and Georgia Southern (May 12). Premium home games are priced at $10 a ticket, while non-premium tickets are $7 a ticket.
