Seat belt violations are secondary offenses in the state of Nevada.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "the national use rate was 91.6% in 2022," supporting that "many Americans understand the lifesaving value of the seat belt."

There were six (6) motorists encountered violating the seatbelt law after being stopped for other violations during the "Click It or Ticket" enhanced enforcement period that ran from May 13th through May 31st, 2023.

Officers made a total of 266 traffic stops resulting in 194 violation citations. Of the 266 traffic stops, 194 drivers were cited for speeding, as well as multiple other various violations.

The Henderson Police Department received $231,300 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2023 Joining Forces program.
