Rep. Katko Announces $1.6 Million in CARES Act Funds to Support Community Health Centers in Central New York

SYRACUSE, NY- Today U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) announced $1.6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc., and East Hill Family Medical, Inc. These funds, available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, will be used to support ongoing efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic and treat patients in Central New York.

'Today, I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $1.6 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc., and East Hill Family Medical, Inc.,' said Rep. Katko. 'Supporting healthcare providers and medical facilities in Central New York has been among my top priorities throughout this pandemic. I have repeatedly advocated for direct funding to hospitals and community health centers in our region, and am pleased to see this funding reaching our providers on the front lines. I am confident these funds will prove essential in supporting these Community Health Centers as they respond to Coronavirus, and will remain committed to doing everything in my power to support Central New York throughout this crisis.'
