United States – Brazil Bilateral Migration Dialogue

Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya will host a Bilateral Dialogue with Brazil on Migration Policies, Humanitarian Issues, and Refugee Protection on April 29, 2024, in Washington, D.C. Under Secretary Zeya will lead a discussion focused on international migration challenges and opportunities, including protection and humanitarian assistance for refugees, vulnerable migrants, and other displaced persons; support for host communities; and regional coordination on migration management in the Western Hemisphere.

Under Secretary Zeya will be joined by Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Julieta Valls Noyes, White House Coordinator for the Los Angeles Declaration and Special Assistant to the President Marcela Escobari, USAID Acting Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean Michael Camilleri, and Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Border and Immigration Policy Blas Nuñez-Neto. The Brazilian delegation will be led by Secretary of Multilateral Political Affairs Ambassador Carlos Márcio Bicalho Cozendey, who will be joined by Director of the Department of Migrations Luana Medeiros, and First Secretary Isabel Costa.
