Oracle Academy and Aditya Academy collaborate to empower ...

In a bid to foster innovation and hands-on learning among aspiring technology enthusiasts, Oracle Academy and Aditya Academy joined forces to host Project Space, a dynamic six-day project-based challenge in India. From March 15 - 20, 2024, this collaborative endeavor brought together 198 shortlisted student participants organized into 33 teams, all eager to tackle real-world problems using cutting-edge technologies.

The challenge

Project Space was more than just a competition; it was an opportunity for participants to delve into a variety of projects spanning multiple disciplines. The focus areas included Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Full-stack Development, Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, and more. Each team embarked on a journey to address pressing issues through innovative solutions leveraging the latest technologies.

Objectives

The objectives of Project Space were manifold:

  • Learning Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI):Participants were encouraged to explore Oracle Cloud courses and gain in-depth knowledge of its rapidly expanding services.
  • Awareness of Oracle Academy:The challenge aimed to inform participants about Oracle Academy and its myriad benefits, including access to resources and learning opportunities.
  • Utilization of OCI Credits:Students were provided with OCI credits from Oracle Academy to facilitate hands-on exploration and experimentation in the cloud.
  • Practical Skill Development:By diving deep into OCI services such as Compute, Storage, Network, and AIML, participants honed their practical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Real-World Problem Solving:The challenge encouraged teams to identify real-world problems and develop solutions by deploying and integrating OCI services.
  • Pathway to Certification:Through completing Oracle Cloud courses, participants were inspired to pursue OCI certifications, enhancing their credentials in the field.

Competition highlights

The competition kicked off with an online Multiple-Choice Question Assessment Test focused on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. From the initial 500 registrants, 198 students emerged as finalists, showcasing their expertise and dedication to learn OCI.

Pavankumar Makamchenna, Senior Manager at Oracle Cloud Engineering, graced the event as a keynote speaker and jury member. His wealth of experience in the IT industry, particularly in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, added immense value to the proceedings.

All participating Aditya students were granted complimentary access to Oracle Cloud learning resources and accounts, facilitating hands-on practice and fostering practical exposure.

Diversity and inclusion

Project Space embraced diversity, with 241 girl student participants in the initial round. Among the 198 finalists, 130, or around 65 percent, were girls. This balanced representation underscores the commitment of Oracle, Oracle Academy and its collaborating institutions to advancing gender diversity in technology fields. By fostering inclusivity, the initiative provided equal opportunities for all aspiring technologists. It celebrated varied perspectives and backgrounds, empowering individuals to contribute uniquely to the industry. After intense competition, three teams emerged triumphant:

  2. 2nd Place: Peruri Sushma Devi, Yanaganti Bhavya Satya Deepika, Madasu Lavanya, Jaya Vardhan Kundrapu, Pamapana Deepak Babu, Sanjeev Kumar Gupta
  3. 3rd Place: Nakka Vamsi Praveen, Kosetti Veera Mahendra, Rayudu Ramya Sri, Gunavardhan Potharlanka, Sanike Poojitha, Akula Sri Sai Chandra Kiran
