Delta’s New Sky Lounge in the Fort Lauderdale Airport is Now Open

After six months of construction, Turner Construction Company celebrated the official grand opening of Delta's new sky lounge in the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Richard Pelosi, Turner's MEP Engineer on the site, spoke about how the project came to fruition, saying, 'The Delta Sky Club was a labor of love. It took a lot of brainpower and hard work from an outstanding team to get to the finish line. With the support of each other, our Turner management team, the Turner main team (that was concurrently building the terminal that this fit out was inside of), our trade partners, and our client - we were able to bring the job to completion.'

The lounge, which is located in Delta's Terminal 2, holds 180 seats in which people can rest and relax. This incredible space also features a large buffet with a variety of options, a bar, marble-clad bathrooms, on-boarding entry, decorative glass from Italy, and multiple glass blown light fixtures from the Czech Republic.

The project was a great accomplishment for Turner and as Pelosi said, 'the finish line was a bitter sweet feeling but definitely a great success for the team, and the Florida business unit as a whole.'
