Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Roy Avenue

Winnipeg, MB- At 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire in a vacant, boarded up single-storey house in the 1400 block of Roy Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the structure. Crews launched an offensive attack, fighting the fire from inside. They declared the fire under control at 1:39 p.m.

Firefighters completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Damage estimates are not available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
