Organized Retail Theft Arrests

PRESS RELEASE

On March 22, 2024, the New York State Police in conjunction with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police made three arrests in the town of Poughkeepsie during a targeted enforcement of organized retail theft in the area.

Investigation determined Christopher S. Dale, and Neigabe J. Stewart used $1,400 in counterfeit U.S. Currency to purchase approximately $1,270 worth of merchandise from Home Depot. Shefqet Krasniqi was found with over $1,200 worth of stolen merchandise.

Christopher Dale, age 33, of New York, NY, was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, a class C felony, Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, and Conspiracy in the 4th degree, both Class E felonies.

Neigabe Stewart, age 41, of Mount Vernon, NY, was arrested for Conspiracy in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

Shefqet Krasniqi, age 44, of Wappinger, NY, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

Christopher Dale and Neigabe Stewart were arraigned before the town of Poughkeepsie Court. Stewart was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Dale was released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department. Krasniqi was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Poughkeepsie Court.
