Fargo Fire Department Extinguishes Apartment Fire at 5050 Amber Valley Parkway South

Fire displaces residents of three units for an extended period of time

The Fargo Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 5050 Amber Valley Parkway South in Fargo at 2 a.m. on April 7. Bystanders reported a fire on a balcony and in a unit.

The first arriving unit reported heavy fire coming from an apartment and balcony. Crews immediately pulled a hose line and knocked down the exterior fire. Additional units extinguished the interior fire located in an apartment and attic space.

Firefighters confined the heavy fire damage to the balcony and initial apartment. The only extension into the attic was over the room with the fire. Residents will be displaced from three separate apartment units for an extended time due to the fire and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The initial estimate for the damage is $200,000. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The Fargo Fire Department responded with five engine companies, a truck company and two command vehicles with 20 people. The Fargo Police Department, Sanford Ambulance, Salvation Army and Red Cross assisted at the scene.
