PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of April 15, 2024


Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 15, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 166 (Republic Road) in German Township.

Bridge flushing:

  • Various routes in City of Connellsville and Mill Run areas.

Bridge replacement:

  • ​Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township.
    • ​Closure and detour in place.

Pipe flushing:

  • Route 1024 (Edison Street) in North Union Township.
  • Route 1055 (Dunbar Ohiopyle Road) in North Union Township.

Seal coating:

  • Route 1033 (Narrows Road) in Connellsville and Bullskin townships.
  • Route 1034 (Tanyard Hollow Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1035 (Bell View Road) in Bullskin Township.

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 119 (Morgantown Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3002 (Gans Road) in Springhill Township.

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 4016 (Smock Road) in Menallen Township.

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 711 (Springfield Pike) in Springfield Township.

Sign replacement:

  • Various routes countywide.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.
PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
