CORPUS CHRISTI, TX-Lane closures this weekend will usher in a new, permanent traffic alignment associated with the Harbor Bridge Project, which will improve traffic flow for motorists traveling on I-37, US 181, and SH 286.
Beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, the new traffic pattern will allow northbound motorists on SH 286 (Crosstown) to connect to northbound US 181 and continue toward Portland or to connect with I-37 toward downtown Corpus Christi and the bayfront.
Directional signs will be in place to assist commuters with the new configuration. Traffic connecting from northbound SH 286 to westbound/northbound I-37 will not be affected.
To implement the new traffic alignment, these closures will be necessary this weekend:
All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the closures and detours, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic control devices, and slowdown in the work zones.
