Kevin Ege and Sue Stegmeyer

Hurleyville, NY - Join your neighbors at the Sullivan County Museum on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. for an afternoon of songs drawn from the rich legacy of traditional Americana and bluegrass music. The free performance is sponsored by the Frederick Cook Society.

Kevin Ege has been playing guitar since he was 9 years old, inspired by the great bluegrass and folk guitarists of the sixties. His influences include everyone from Doc Watson and Arlo Guthrie to Lyle Lovett, Peter Rowan and Bob Dylan.

Nine years ago, Kevin and his wife Sue Stegmeyer began performing together. Sue is a classically trained pianist, who later learned to play the bass guitar. She is also a professional horse trainer and instructor. Her first horse was an Arabian Stallion that she won at the The National Horse Show at New York City's Madison Square Garden, when she was 18 years old. Since then, she has owned a Thoroughbred, Hanoverian and a Trakehner, and has trained all breeds from a Friesian to a Fjord. And for those interested in Dressage, Sue's book, "Keys to the Kingdom of Dressage," will be available for sale at the concert.

Little Sparrow will host the concert and perform a set featuring Jeff Anderson on bass (Esther Phillips/Ben E. King), and Henry Simon on guitar (a Sullivan West senior). And in the tradition of the Grand Ole Opry, the two bands will perform together to close out the show.

The Sullivan County Museum is located at 265 Main Street, Hurleyville. The event is free. Donations are welcome. For more information call 845 434-8044 or visit https://www.facebook.com/littlesparrowny.
