Women's Intro to Fishing Class, Indianapolis

This 2-hour class is being offered for women anglers and will be geared towards beginners looking to learn more about the fundamentals of fishing and gain enough knowledge to fish confidently, as well as rusty anglers looking to get back into the sport.

Participants will learn core fishing skills including simple but versatile rigging, bait, and gear selection, followed by an hour of fishing with DNR staff. All equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own gear to learn with if they have it.

Register to attend this free event. The class size is limited to 10 participants. REGISTRATION IS FULL AS OF APRIL 5.

The class will be held by the fishing pond at Krannert Park, 605 South High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46241 at 9 a.m. ET.

This class is open to ages 10+, however any participants under the age of 16 must have an adult guardian to take the class with. The class is fast paced and meant primarily for an adult audience, so participants bringing children may need to assist their child during the class.

A 2024 Indiana fishing license is required for participants 18 years and older. Fishing licenses can be purchased online at on.IN.gov/fishinglicense.
