STUDIOCANAL is delighted to announce that THE MOST PRECIOUS OF CARGOES directed by Michel Hazanavicius will be premiering in Official Selection Competition at Cannes Film Festival 77th edition. The film is produced by EX NIHILO, Patrick Sobelman, and LES COMPAGNONS DU CINEMA, Florence Gastaud & MichelHazanavicius with STUDIOCANAL and LES FILMS DU FLEUVE, Jean-Pierre & LucDardenne, as co-producers and will be released by STUDIOCANAL in cinemas in France 20 November 2024 and coming soon internationally. STUDIOCANAL is launching worldwide sales at CannesMarket.

Directed by the Academy Award winning director of THE ARTIST, and line produced by the ANIMATION STUDIOS 3.0, who worked on THE FRENCH DISPATCH and THE REDTURTLE, THE MOST PRECIOUS OF CARGOES is a powerful reminder that in the darkest times, the soul of humanity can only be preserved by the bright light of love and the heroism of ordinary people.​

It is an adaptation of the eponymous best-selling book by acclaimed French playwright and children's books author Jean-Claude Grumberg, who is co-writing the film with Hazanavicius. Translated in 16 languages and sold in 20 territories.

Written and drawn by Michel Hazanavicius himself over the last 5 years, the film is narrated by iconic French actor Jean-Louis Trintignant, with Grégory Gadebois and DominiqueBlanc voicing the woodcutter and his wife for the French version.
