MEDIA ADVISORY: Planetariums, rockets, robots and more at UH astronomy open house

WHAT: The popular annual open house at UH Mānoa's Institute of Astronomy (IfA) will feature free hands-on activities, demonstrations, and short talks about astronomy, space science and physics. Keiki-friendly activities include sundial making, bottle-rocket launching, portable planetariums, viewing space-themed Lego creations and makahiki games. Participants will also be able to "Ask an Astronomer," test drive robots and stroll through a scale model of the Solar System. Special telescopes will be on hand to observe the Sun and its spectrum. UH astronomers will host brief presentations throughout the day.

WHEN: Sunday, April 21, 11 a.m.--4 p.m.

WHERE: UH Institute for Astronomy, 2680 Woodlawn Drive, Honolulu, HI (free admission and parking)
