The aim of the intensive one-year Czech language course is to gain knowledge of the Czech language in preparation for studying at a university of technical studies in Czech. Demonstrating a very good knowledge of Czech in the admission procedure (level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference) is a prerequisite for studying at CTU.
Academic year 2024/2025 - course dates:
The preparatory Czech language course is designed for beginners (no previous knowledge of Czech is assumed). The course is taught in groups of up to 16 participants (the minimum number of participants to open the course is 8). Czech language lessons are aimed at acquiring speaking skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension), developing communicative skills (expanding vocabulary, phraseology) and the ability to react in everyday situations. Participants gradually get acquainted with Czech realities.
How to apply:
The total price of the course is 91.000 CZK (or 3.760 EUR) including a non-refundable registration fee of 7.000 CZK (or 290 EUR; see below)
Send the completed application form [doc] by e-mail to: veselkova[at]fd.cvut.cz. The application form together with the non-refundable registration fee of 7.000,- CZK (or 290 EUR) must be sent between 8 January 2024 and 31 May 2024 (at the latest).
You will then make a payment of CZK 84,000 ( or EUR 3,470; the non-refundable registration fee has already been paid with the application) by 14 June 2024 at the latest.
After payment of the registration fee is added the CTU account, you will receive an email confirmation of your registration and within a week we will send you an official letter confirming your inclusion in the Czech Preparatory Course.
