Second meeting of 2022-23 Parliament Session | 7 December 2022

- Members of Parliament met for the second meeting of the 2022-2023 Parliament Session today Wednesday 7 December. The meeting opened with the presentation of a number of annual reports followed by parliamentary questions.

- MPs from both Government and the Opposition engaged in rousing debate on Government Motion No.3/2022 on National Lottery and Decriminalisation of Small Quantities of Cannabis and its potential impact on the Cayman Islands. The motion passed with sixteen votes in favour of a referendum.

- The Gambling (Amendment) Bill, 2022 was presented for a second reading and debated briefly before the House adjourned. Discussions are set to continue tomorrow Thursday 8 December 2022.
