British Marine Sponsorship Opportunity: Inspiring the next generation

Published on: 04 April 2024

We have identified the need to create a single place where people can find out about our industry and what makes it such a great place to work in. This includes the many roles and career opportunities available.

We are therefore looking to build a Careers Portal on our website, where students, including school, college and university leavers can find out more.

We envisage a Portal which is both inspiring and relatable, comprising initially of 10 spotlights, each focusing on the differing roles within our industry. The aim would be to bring each role to life with an interview, whereby young professionals will be asked to share their experiences. Each spotlight would be supported with a video interview (example). We would also create an inspiring video for our industry as a whole (example).

In terms of promoting our new Portal, not only would we notify career advisors across the county, but we would also ensure that it is fully SEO optimised, and thereby easily found online. The Portal would complement British Marine's existing industry jobs board, training course offering and apprenticeship opportunities.

We are looking for a sponsor or a group of sponsors to make this work possible! In return, we would ensure that your company logo is included prominently on our new Careers Portal and a special thank you included with each video interview. We would also circulate a press release announcing the Portal's launch, which would promote your company's support, and in turn your commitment and support for our industry.

Our Careers Portal is only the first step in our journey! In time, we will be looking to expand the number of roles featured within, actively promote it, and create a toolkit which would enable British Marine members to promote both our industry and the Portal within their local schools and institutions.
