Lucas County: Construction update

Bowling Green, Ohio (Friday, April 19, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Lucas County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Project ID: 93592

Interstate 75, between Buck Road and Monroe Street, Toledo/Rossford/Northwood, may experience occasional lane restrictions for finish work related to a reconstruction project.
  • Southbound I-75, south of South Ave. will experience lane restrictions for final surface course application beginning late April/early May.

Project ID: 119007

Interstate 75, between SR 795 and Buck Road, Rossford,will experience lane restrictions for reconstruction of the Lime City Road bridge through summer 2025. Additional restrictions will be announced.
  • Lime City Road over Interstate 75, Rossford, is reduced to one lane in each direction with a temporary traffic signal. Roadway will close fully for 120 days beginning in June.

Interstate 280, between SR 51 and SR 2, will experience lane and shoulder restrictions for resurfacing through October. Ramp restrictions and closures will be announced.
  • Southbound I-280is shifted to the existing outside shoulder. Traffic is maintained in two lanes with no shoulder, from approximately State Route 2 to State Route 51, through summer. Additional ramp restrictions may be announced.
  • Northbound I-280will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the existing outside shoulder on Friday, April 19, for 120 days.
    • Following the shift, traffic will be maintained in one lane with no shoulder from approximately State Route 51 to State Route 2.
    • Ramp closures of approximately 15 minutes may occur during the shift.

Interstate 475, between Airport Highway and U.S. Route 24, Maumee, will have lane restrictions for I-475 widening and construction of a new interchange at U.S. Route 20A through December 2024. Additional restrictions will be announced.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • Eastbound US 24 to southbound I-475 rampis closed through mid-May.
    • Detour:Northbound I-475 to Dussel Dr. to southbound I-475.
  • Westbound US 24 to southbound I-475 rampis closed through mid-August.
    • Detour:Northbound I-475 to Dussel Dr. to southbound I-475.

Maintenance

U.S. Route 20from the Fulton County line to Centennial Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm work through April.

U.S. Route 24/Anthony Wayne Trail, between Monclova Rd. and Detroit Ave., Maumee,will experience daytime lane restrictions for various work items through early summer.
  • Ford Streetin Maumee south of the AW Trail, between the Trail and Williams Street, will be closed for reconstruction of Ford Street. The closure will remain in place through late April.
    • Detour:Kingsbury, West John Street back to Ford Street.
    • Access to the baseball field will be maintained from William Street. See updated diagram.
    • Cannot access Ford St. from William St.
  • Ford Streetwill be closed north of the AW Trail after the southern portion completes beginning on Thursday, April 25. Local business access will be maintained, however will be accessible only from the north/Sophia St./Illinois Ave.
  • AW Trail, between Monclova Rd. and Key St., is reduced to one lane through early June.

Airport Highway/State Route 2 at Byrne Road, Toledo, may experience lane restrictions for miscellaneous finish work through spring.

State Route 25/AW Trail Delaware Creek Culvert: This project replaces a culvert 50' under the roadway. No restrictions expected to AW Trail. Local roads including Fanning Dr. and Rohr Blvd. will experience lane restrictions beginning in mid-May. Additional restrictions will be announced.
