MINISTER VASU ENGAGES IN BILATERAL DISCUSSIONS...

The Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage & Arts, Hon. Ifereimi Vasu engaged in separate bilateral discussions with New Zealand's Minister for Māori Development, the Hon. Tama Potaka, and the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries, the Hon. Shane Jones.

In these meetings, Minister Vasu emphasised the significance of Fiji's bilateral ties with New Zealand and highlighted the necessity of enhancing these relations through various proposed initiatives that were brought up for discussion. The discussions led to tangible outcomes, which will be pursued further under arrangements that are beneficial for both parties.

Following these meetings, Minister Vasu and his delegation held consultations with the Waitangi Tribunal, the Māori Land Court, and the office of Māori Crown Relations.
