The 19th Meeting of the Chairs of Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States

On 23 May 2024, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, hosted the 19th Meeting of the Chairs of Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States.

The meeting participants discussed topical judicial issues of mutual interest, and explored opportunities for future collaboration between the supreme judicial agencies of SCO member states.

SCO Deputy Secretary-General Nuran Niyazaliyev welcomed the participants and provided an update on the Organisation's activities, particularly in relation to its expansion. He also highlighted the preparations for the upcoming SCO Heads of State Council Meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.Nuran Niyazaliyev noted that fruitful cooperation between the chairs of Supreme Courts helped merge specific approaches to judicial systems, facilitated more effective interaction between courts and created favourable conditions for more comprehensive judicial reforms.

Following the meeting, the participants issued a joint statement.

In 2025, the 20th Meeting of the Chairs of Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States will be chaired by the People's Republic of China.
