Dulcie and South Summit hit the stage at YouthFest 2023

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is excited to announce the return of the highly anticipated YouthFest on 30 September, featuring headline acts Dulcie and South Summit.
Hosted by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Council, this year's event will once again be free for young people aged 12-25 and promises an even bigger and better experience. Key attractions include a silent disco, thrilling street sports, laser tag activities, chill-out zones, and a skate competition during the day.
Those aged 15 and up are encouraged to soak up the vibes of this year's headliners. WA's South Summit is a talented five-piece group with a shared passion for creating original music that captures their experiences of life and love. Representing their different cultures, the band's hybrid blend of alt-rock and reggae has rapidly captivated new audiences, growing an extensive fan base across Australia.
Over the last 18 months, the group has travelled across Australia with performances at Falls Festival, Groovin The Moo and BIGSOUND.
Perth's 3-piece indie-pop girl group, Dulcie originated during their studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where they began making their name known around the Australian music scene. They have since played at festivals including Groovin The Moo, and Laneway. They've also performed with artists Ocean Alley, G-Flip, King Stingray, Amy Shark, and Spacey Jane.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Acting Youth Mayor, Braydon Donnell said the annual YouthFest is a highlight event for the city's young people.
"Youth Councillors have been working hard to plan this annual event and have enjoyed hearing from young people across the city on what they would like to see featured."

Mayor John Bowler said YouthFest reflects the City's ongoing commitment to making Kalgoorlie-Boulder a lively and engaging place for young people.
"This flagship event has been identified in the City's Youth Strategic Plan as having a pivotal role in creating a thriving city for young people."
"We want our youth to enjoy living in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and to feel the support of their community as they venture into adulthood, and these types of events provide them with experiences to remember."
Build Up Skateboarding, who aim to empower young people through skateboarding will return to assist in hosting the popular skateboarding competition, with prizes including a one-of-a-kind YouthFest branded skateboard, Kal Dollar vouchers and tickets to see TikTok comedian, Luke Kidgell at the Goldfields Arts Centre later this year.
Young people of all levels of skate experience are encouraged to attend and learn from facilitators on the day and enter or cheer for this year's competitors.
YouthFest attendees also have the chance to win up to $200 Kal Dollar vouchers for sharing the YouthFest Facebook event before 30 September. Anyone who shares photos from the event with the hashtag #ckbyouthfest will also automatically go in the draw to win one of 20 gift bags valued at over $100 each.
YouthFest will be held on 30 September 2023, from 3pm - 9pm at Lord Forrest/Kingsbury Park. This is a smoke, drug and alcohol-free event, and bag checks will be carried out upon entry.
