The 10th anniversary of the creation of the Happy (We are from High Tatras, Slovakia) music video was celebrated on Mt Lomnický štít

High Tatras (21st March 2024) The International Day of Happiness was celebrated in style in the High Tatras. On the very top of Mt Lomnický štít, the main actors of the Slovak version of the music video based on Pharrell Williams' song Happy met exactly 10 years later.

The idea to join the global challenge and shoot a Tatra version of the world hit music video was spontaneous and the marketing team of the Vysoké Tatry mountain resort created it in 2014 within 48 hours. "We took advantage of the fact that a promotional video for the next season was being shot in the resort at that time. Since we saw that the Happy filming craze had started alongside it, we decided to use it. The idea was that each person would dance something and it worked out well. Today, it is by far our most successful promo video ever," explained business and marketing manager Lukáš Brodanský.

Michaela, who was dancing in swimwear and with a ski helmet on the terrace on top of Mt Lomnický štít, was the main star of the video. After 10 years, she returned to the summit again and brought a painting that she had created. It will be part of the interior decoration of the Dedo café on the summit. "I started to do art and spread happiness further. So, it motivates me all the time. I brought a painting of a sundial, symbolising that there is always time for everybody to change. Right here on top of Mt Lomnický štít, one can look at their life while staying on top of things and realise that they can be happy at any moment," explained her recipe Michaela.

The "Happy - We are from High Tatras, Slovakia" music video now has an incredible 7.5 million views on the YouTube platform and is by far the most successful version among all created in the world. The second most popular version was created in Paris and can now boast 3.5 million views.

"The number of tourists coming to the High Tatras has significantly increased compared to 2014. This is mainly due to foreign clientele, where we register an increase of about 20-30% compared to 2014. We believe that the amount of energy we devoted to addressing foreign markets - including this Happy clip, has helped the Tatras, contributed to their good reputation and increased the interest of foreign guests," concluded Lukáš Brodanský.
