One Under Arrest After Officers Recover a Loaded Firearm During a Traffic Stop in Roxbury

At about 12:30 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, officers from District 2 conducted a traffic stop which led to the arrest of a male and the recovery of a loaded firearm in the area of 146 Stanwood Street in Roxbury. While on patrol, officers observed a dark blue Toyota Camry operating with excessively dark tinted windows and an expired inspection sticker. The officers activated their lights and sirens, initiating a traffic stop. As the operator was removed from the vehicle, an open folding knife fell from his waistband. A motor vehicle inventory search was conducted and officers located a loaded Glock 42 firearm with an obliterated serial number loaded with five rounds of live ammunition. The firearm, which was concealed in a fanny pack, was secured and officers additionally recovered an ultrahigh voltage taser, as well as drugs.

Officers arrested Victor Lewis 37, of Dorchester. Lewis is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession of Class A and D Drugs, Possession of an Electric Stun Gun, as well as several Violations of the Auto Laws.
