ABC Suspends License of the Midway Market in Modesto
No new ABC license can be issued at the business location for at least one year
(Modesto) -The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) today suspended the alcoholic beverage license of the Midway Market, located at 1629 Midway Ave, Modesto. The suspension will last indefinitely until the license is transferred to persons and a location acceptable to the Department. If no transfer of the license occurs within 180 days, the license will permanently be revoked. ABC Agents were able to determine through their investigation that the store had a reputation of selling alcohol to local teenagers. ABC suspended the license because of the licensee's blatant disregard of laws protecting youth from access to alcohol, ABC found multiple violations within a one year period. No new ABC license can be issued at the business location for at least a one-year period.
ABC protects communities through education and by administering prevention and enforcement programs designed to increase compliance with California's alcoholic beverage laws.
