The Italian Ministry of Health Ordinance of 29 July 2021, effective from 31 July 2021 to 30 August 2021 reaffirms the regulations for entry into Italy from the United States set by the Ordinance of 18 June 2021 (GU General Series No.145 of 19 June 2021).
The certificates of vaccination and recovery issued by the United States health authorities are recognized as equivalent to the Italian certificates for both entry into Italy and use in Italy as stated in Art. 3 of the Decree of 23 July 2021.
-ENTRY INTO ITALY FROM THE UNITED STATES -
Entry into Italy from the United States is permitted by presenting, upon embarking to the carrier and subsequently to the competent Italian authorities, one of the three certificates described below:
-EQUIVALENCE OF VACCINATION AND RECOVERY CERTIFICATES ISSUED IN THE UNITED STATES FOR USES SET BY ART. 3 OF DECREE OF 23 JULY 2021-
Immunization certificates must be written in English and include the following information:
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth of the certificate holder.
- Name and Batch of the Vaccine.
- Date/s of Immunization/s.
- Identifier of the Healthcare Professional or Clinic Site that administered the vaccine.
The recovery certificates must include the following information:
- First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth of the certificate holder.
- Information on previous SARS-CoV-2 infection of the certificate holder, following a positive test (date of the first positive test).
- Identifier of the Healthcare Professional or Clinic that issued the certificate.
All recovery certificates, whether digital or in print, must be accompanied by a certified translation.
PLEASE NOTE: The equivalence of immunization certificates referenced above only applies to the COVID-19 Green Certificate in use in Italy. The procedures for issuing the EU Digital Covid Certificate (EU-DCC), recognized in the European Union, to Italian citizens who received the Anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in the United States, are still being developed.
