Rep. Susan Wild Joins Allentown Police Department to Announce Nearly $1 Million Secured in Federal Investments

May 30, 2024

Today, Congresswoman Wild joined Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca to celebrate the $963,000 investment the Congresswoman secured for the Allentown Police Department during the annual government appropriations process. This federal investment will allow Chief Roca and his team to purchase new police cruisers and upgrade critical technology involved in processing illegal drugs and documenting crime scenes.

"I don't need to tell any of you how hard our law enforcement officers work, day in and day out, to protect our community," said Rep. Wild. "I am so proud we were able to secure nearly one million dollars for the Allentown Police Department in this year's federal budget, and I want to thank our local, state and federal partners for advocating alongside me every step of the way. I will always push to bring these essential federal investments home, especially when they concern the safety and security of the Greater Lehigh Valley."

Congresswoman Wild was joined by Senator Bob Casey, Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk and Allentown District Attorney Gavin Holihan to promote the investment, and how it will help keep Allentown and the surrounding community safe.
