Westside Community Connections: Presentation on the Bus Rapid Transit System by the Department of Transportation and Metro Transit

Please join members of the Madison Common Council, this Thursday, April 18 via Zoom, for this month's Westside Community Connections that will feature the Department of Transportation and Metro Transit. Tom Lynch, Director of Transportation, and Shanae Meacham, Outreach Specialist of Metro Transit, will present on the cost of BRT, which will include a timeline for when BRT will be in operation. They will also update residents on vehicle and stop accessibility.

The City of Madison is building a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system as part of an effort to provide better access to jobs, reduce travel times, and improve transit equity throughout the region. There have been questions surrounding the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit and this session will give residents an opportunity to receive in-person updates on the changes that have been made so far as well as ask questions to presenters.

There will be limited time for a Q&A session at the end of the presentation. We ask attendees to limit their questions to no more than one minute. We encourage attendees to also submit their questions in advance to Lorissa Banuelos, Community Engagement Strategist, by email at [email protected]. Please include "Westside Community Connections" in the subject line. To learn more about the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in advance of Thursday's Westside Community Connections, visit the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) webpage.

To participate in the virtual Westside Community Connections session on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM, please register in advance at the following link: www.cityofmadison.com/westsidecommunityconnections.
